Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using BrowserBar ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and PrivDev regarding your use of BrowserBar.

License to Use

What You Can Do

Use BrowserBar on your personal Mac computers
Use BrowserBar for personal and commercial purposes
Install BrowserBar on multiple devices you own
Use both free and Pro features according to your license

What You Cannot Do

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Distribute, sell, or sublicense the App
Remove or modify copyright notices or proprietary markings
Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to circumvent Pro feature limitations in the free version

Free and Pro Versions

Free Version

BrowserBar offers a generous free version with core browser functionality that you can use indefinitely.

Pro Version

The Pro version is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks advanced developer and productivity features.

Full developer viewport presets (mobile, tablet, desktop)

Advanced window management and pinning
Developer tools and inspection features

Fair Usage

The free version is fully functional and not time-limited. Pro features are additional enhancements for developers and power users who need advanced viewport testing and screenshot capabilities. There are no ongoing subscription fees.

Payment and Refunds

Payment Processing

Pro upgrades are processed through Apple's Mac App Store using StoreKit. Your payment information is handled securely by Apple and is not stored by PrivDev.

Refund Policy

Refunds for Pro purchases are handled through Apple's standard Mac App Store refund policy. Apple typically offers refunds within 90 days of purchase.

Updates and Versioning

Minor Updates

Your BrowserBar license (both free and Pro) includes free minor updates (e.g., v1.1, v1.2, v1.3) that include:

Bug fixes and stability improvements
Small feature enhancements
Performance optimizations
macOS compatibility updates

Major Version Updates

Major version updates (e.g., v2.0, v3.0) with significant new features may require a new purchase. However, existing Pro customers receive special benefits:

50% discount on major version upgrades for existing Pro customers
Early access to beta versions
Continued access to your current version indefinitely

Fair Upgrade Policy:

You'll never be forced to upgrade, and your current version will continue to work. Major versions typically happen every 2-3 years with substantial new capabilities.

Web Content Notice:

BrowserBar uses macOS WebKit for rendering web content. Some websites may not display correctly if they don't support WebKit or Safari. We recommend testing websites with the free version first.

Disclaimer of Warranties

BrowserBar is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. While we strive to make the App reliable and useful, we cannot guarantee that it will be error-free or available at all times.

Use the App at your own risk
BrowserBar is a browser tool and may be affected by website compatibility issues
We're not responsible for any system issues or conflicts with other software

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrivDev shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of BrowserBar.

Termination

You may stop using BrowserBar at any time by simply uninstalling the App from your device. Your Pro purchase remains valid for future installations.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App for violations of these Terms, though we will make reasonable efforts to contact you first.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will:

Post the updated Terms on this page
Update the "last updated" date
Provide notification through the App if changes are significant
