Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Pivotal ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and PrivDev regarding your use of Pivotal.

License to Use

What You Can Do

Use Pivotal on your personal Mac computers
Use Pivotal for personal and commercial purposes
Install Pivotal on multiple devices you own

What You Cannot Do

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Distribute, sell, or sublicense the App
Remove or modify copyright notices or proprietary markings
Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

Free Trial

Pivotal offers a 14-day free trial period. During this time, you can use all features of the App without any limitations.

The trial period begins when you first launch the App
No credit card or payment information is required for the trial
After the trial period, you'll need to purchase a license to continue using the App

Fair Trial Usage

To ensure fair access to trials for all users, Pivotal uses anonymous device tracking to prevent trial abuse through reinstallation.

Each device receives one 14-day trial period per app
Trial tracking uses only anonymous device identifiers (no personal data)
Attempting to circumvent trial limitations violates these Terms

Payment and Refunds

Payment Processing

Payments for Pivotal are processed through Polar.sh, a third-party payment processor. Your payment information is handled securely by Polar.sh and is not stored by PrivDev.

Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with Pivotal for any reason, you can request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Refunds typically process within 5-10 business days

Updates and Versioning

Minor Updates

Your Pivotal license includes free minor updates (e.g., v1.1, v1.2, v1.3) that include:

Bug fixes and stability improvements
Small feature enhancements
Performance optimizations
macOS compatibility updates

Major Version Updates

Major version updates (e.g., v2.0, v3.0) with significant new features or architectural changes require a new license purchase. However, existing customers receive special benefits:

50% discount on major version upgrades for existing customers
Early access to beta versions
Priority support during upgrade period
Continued access to your current version indefinitely

Fair Upgrade Policy:

We believe in fair pricing. You'll never be forced to upgrade, and your current version will continue to work. Major versions typically happen every 2-3 years with substantial new capabilities.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Pivotal is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. While we strive to make the App reliable and useful, we cannot guarantee that it will be error-free or available at all times.

Use the App at your own risk
Back up important data before using workspace management features
We're not responsible for any data loss or system issues

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrivDev shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of Pivotal.

Termination

You may stop using Pivotal at any time by simply uninstalling the App from your device.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App for violations of these Terms, though we will make reasonable efforts to contact you first.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will:

Post the updated Terms on this page
Update the "last updated" date
Provide notification through the App if changes are significant
