Privacy Policy
Dockpal — how we handle your privacy.
Last updated: May 2025
The short version
Dockpal does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything stays on your Mac. There are no analytics, no crash reporters, and no cloud syncing.
What data Dockpal stores
Dockpal saves your groups, app references, and preferences locally on your Mac using Apple's standard UserDefaults system. This data never leaves your device.
- Your group names and the apps/files/folders inside them
- Layout preference (Grid or Carousel)
- Appearance setting (Light, Dark, or Auto)
- Hotkey configuration
- Behavioural preferences (e.g. dismiss-on-click-outside)
What we do not collect
No analytics
We use no analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or telemetry of any kind.
No crash reporting
Crashes are not reported to us. Apple may collect crash logs through macOS at your discretion.
No usage data
We do not know which apps you open, how often you use Dockpal, or anything about your workflow.
No network requests
Dockpal makes no outbound network calls from the app itself, except through Apple's StoreKit for purchase verification.
In-app purchases
The Pro upgrade is handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple's own Privacy Policy governs any data collected during the purchase flow.
Children's privacy
Dockpal does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. As no data is collected at all, there is nothing to address specifically for children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Any future changes will maintain the same privacy-first principles.
