Privacy Policy
How KeyPress handles your input and data — in plain language.
Last updated: June 2026
Our commitment
KeyPress visualizes your keystrokes, clicks and scrolls entirely on your Mac so your audience can follow along. It's built so the very thing it displays — your input — is never collected.
In short: KeyPress has no servers, makes no network connections, and never stores, logs, or transmits anything you type or click.
What KeyPress accesses
Accessibility (keyboard & mouse)
macOS asks for your permission to grant Accessibility access. KeyPress uses it only to read which keys and mouse buttons are pressed so it can draw them on screen in real time. Events are processed in memory to render the overlay and then discarded — never written to disk or sent anywhere.
Password & secure fields are excluded
When a secure text field (such as a password box) is focused, KeyPress automatically stops displaying keystrokes, so sensitive input is never shown.
What we don't do
No analytics or tracking
No telemetry, crash reporting, tracking pixels, or behavioral monitoring of any kind.
No data collection
We don't collect personal information, keystroke history, or usage statistics.
No network calls
KeyPress ships with no networking entitlement — it literally cannot phone home.
No accounts
There's no sign-up and no login. KeyPress just runs.
Where your settings live
Your preferences and profiles (themes, sizes, positions, custom labels, and so on) are stored locally on your Mac using standard system preferences. They stay on your device and are included only in your own Mac backups — never uploaded to us.
Purchases
Handled entirely by Apple
KeyPress Pro is unlocked through Apple's In-App Purchase (a subscription or a one-time purchase). All payments and subscription management are handled by the App Store. We never see or receive your name, email, or payment details. Entitlements are verified on-device through Apple's StoreKit.
Changes & contact
If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Material changes will be reflected in a future app update's notes.
